im reading this comic and this girl is trying to cope with this great emotional trauma shes just experienced by singing the madoka opening to her dying friend
People who move to NYC and forget that they’re not from here
Her face during + after the push BWAHAHAHHA
my problem with this is that nyc is a town of naturalization. no human being is meant to be born into a concrete jungle filled with neon lights and billboards. everyone adapts to the chain of islands on the edge of an ocean that makes up new york. it’s a town that belongs to everyone and no one at once. ny is the definition of tough love with it’s crevices and folds of of all sorts of pain and darkness as well as a sort of inelegant beauty that yanks on your soul and takes everything you offer it with no quarter given. it has the ability to make you larger than life or ground you to dust. the big apple is a place where chaos defines order and law is an idea, not a blanket statement. it’s a kingdom of trashpiles and a trashpile of kings. magic springs from the cracks, technology is around the corner and the whole world wishes it could be such an convoluted and contrary enigma like new york city.
